The new firehall proposed location (1512 Keating Cross Road, next to Co-op gas station) presents a number of problems which must be seriously considered before going ahead with this project:

• The firehall will add to the pollution of Hagan creek, in an area where the ground water is the most problematic in the whole district
• The location is too close to an important intersection with a high rate of accidents
• The location is farther away from the "centre" of Central Saanich and the most populated areas in the district
• Proximity to Butchart Gardens will create summer traffic jams
